Taxi from Airport?
Hi, We%26#39;re also travelling to Candolim in Easter and our hotel have offered to arrange taxi pick up for us. We just need to look out for our name as we come out of the airport terminal. Cost is 700 Rps. Just saves the hassle of trying to get your own taxi and puts our mind at rest - one less thing to worry about!
Taxi from Airport?
By the way, meant to ask what hotel and suggest just emailing them direct - this is what we did!
Staying at Aldeia Santa Rita,
you should be paying in the region of £10.00 at present exchange rate approx 700 rupees.Hope this helps
Thank You.
I just want to ITK so i dont get ripped off.
It%26#39;s very easy to get a taxi at the airport. There%26#39;s a taxi desk after you clear immigration and retrieve your bags - all prices are fixed and displayed on the board - you are given a docket with the taxi number and the price - someone will escort you to the taxi. You pay on arrival at the destination.
You will be greeted by dozens of people offering to carry your (probably wheelie) bags and act as ad hoc porters as soon as you get outside the airport building. A firm and polite no thank you is all you need to say, possibly twice. They%26#39;ll soon move onto to the less assertive folks ....
Get some currency in advance if you can - do not change it at the airport exchange desk - the rate is always worse than terrible and some people on this forum have reported short changing (I can vouch for the former but not the latter). If you don%26#39;t have any currency on you, don%26#39;t worry - ask the taxi driver to stop at a supermarket or chemist at the resort you%26#39;re heading for %26amp; change some money up there then go on to your accommodation.
we are there over easter with an 11 year old daughter and 14 year old son.. staying at highland beach.. see ya there
Hi 1969child.When you collect your luggage watch out for ';friendly'; porters who offer to carry your bags, they will want paying for every bag,if you can manage your own tell them a firm NO,if not agree price in pound coins. As you walk out of arrivals go to wooden shack with taxi sign.Tell them your hotel and resort, they will give you a reciept and a taxi driver will more than likely be sitting on your shoulder,he will take you to your hotel and pay him on arrival as per reciept. You can change money at the airport, call at ATM on the way or get change at hotel.Have great time, chill out and enjoy Goa and the friendly people.
