Holiday Inn or not

After being unable to travel this March, we have our hearts set on the Holiday Inn either the 1st or 2nd week in Nov, but it is not available with either Thomson or First Choice who we wanted to fly with, have Thomsons dithced this hotel does anyone know ?

I shall probably book with Thomas Cook %26amp; would like to know how the flights compare, both economy %26amp; premium.

Not sure whether to book now or grit teeth %26amp; hope for a better deal.

Also does anyone have an alternative suggestion to Holiday Inn, we like look of Donna Sylvia but don%26#39;t want AI.

Cheers

PS not been to Goa before, but have done tons of research on TA

Phil.

Thanx for replies, I had seen Jewelinthecrown, but that is flying with Monarch %26amp; seems a tad expensive for the momment.

Thanx also for the East Midlands tip, I will definately consider making the journey, but how come if they are featuring Holiday Inn, I cant fly from Gatwick, the flights are definately available %26amp; it seems the hotel is as well.

Is early Nov a good time to be in Cavelossim, we just want to relax with good food %26amp; do a couple of trips.

Thanx for the info

November is a great time to go but try if you can to make it from the second week onward as humidity drops throughout November.Here%26#39;s some photo%26#39;s of a 4 week trip which started on Nov 14th and was based in Cavelossim flickr.com/photos/…

Meant to say we travelled from Gatwick in December with TC (economy) and for a chartered flight I really couldn%26#39;t fault them (though we didn%26#39;t pay the extra for meals and when I saw them I was glad we didn%26#39;t, we just took some nice filled baguettes with us and similar coming back I know I%26#39;m a tight Jock lol)

We have travelled to both Goa and Kerala with First Choice/Thomson, and have always found them to be excellent. Went to Kerala with Thomas Cook in December - big mistake! Seats were very uncomfortable, food awful and service cheap (food served in a disposable bag, cold drinks in plastic cups and tea/coffee in paper cups!). Would not travel with them again unless no other option. Just our opinion, but we were a large group, and we all felt the same - we had upgraded to Premium with them by the way, so what we had was their ';upgraded'; product. First Choice/Thomson upgrades slightly more expensive, but you get what you pay for, and we have found the F/c upgrade to be superb.

Not stayed at Holiday Inn, but stayed last month at Dona Sylvia. When we booked the Holiday Inn (B%26amp;B) was almost as expensive as Dona Sylvia (AI) so we went to DS, and still ate out occasionally, either at the beach shacks during the day, or one of the many restaurants at night. The food at the DS is very good, with lots of variety. It is also buffet, so you can try lots of different dishes, which makes it easier to order the food you like from menus at the beach shacks/restaurants when you go out. We love the Dona Sylvia, and have already booked for next January.

We have also been to Goa in mid-November, and the weather was fine for the whole two weeks. The monsoon should be finished well before then, but of course there are no guarantees about the weather anywhere.

Wherever you stay in Goa (especially the south if you want a more tranquil holiday) you will have a fabulous time.

Good luck.
