Cash for Goa?

Should i take Rupees with me or Travellers Cheques?

If i am to take a cab from the airport i will need cash straight away.

Am i allowed to take cash in to Goa?

Morroco is a closed currency and i seem to remember taking cash in on arrival.

Cash for Goa?

I would take TC%26#39;s and sterling. You will struggle to get rupees in the UK altho I did hear a rumour that some of the Tesco currency exchanges have them. I don%26#39;t know what the pound-rupee exchange rate at Goa airport is like but I do know that the rupee-pound rate is dreadful.

1969 child, you can only purchase rupees when in india. You can take as much english money of which you can afford to loose,if you have a credit or debit card there are plenty of cash machines.depending on were you are staying in goa as an example, from the airport to candolim should be no more than ten english pounds, the driver will be quite happy if you pay in english currancy, if not ask the driver to take you to a cash machine,i would not advise changing money at the airport as the exchange rate is crap.

It is not a rumour that you can get rupees in the UK it is fact. They are available from Tescos Bank but at a rate quite alot lower than in Indian - between 5 and 8 to £.

There is a cash machine at Dabolim Airport - on the right hand side as you come out.

If you are on a charter there will be a bus available at the airport to take you to your hotel - if you are going to take a taxi from the airport which you not previously arranged you can get a pre-paid one from the desk and you have to pay in rupees.

Can%26#39;t really see the point taking cash as TC%26#39;s are much safer but we always use cards and stay in Goa for many months.

I use cash %26amp; cards in the UK...see know reason to change just because i%26#39;m going on holiday..;-)

At home you presumably have a safe place for your cash - does everyone have the same safe place when on holiday.

Hi 1969child We take TC and about £200 in cash.Barbs

My %26#39;safe place%26#39; for cash at home is in my purse lol. Use very little cash at home as pay for most things by credit card.

Safety Deposit Boxes.

I`ve heard about having to take your own padlock,

but does the hotel guarantee against any break-ins.

We are stopping at the aldeia santa rita, are the

safety deposit boxes on reception,is the reception

manned 24/7.

anybody out there help me ?

You want to try ebay.Good bargins on currency so long as you watch the postage.

i would take a bit of both t/c and cash. you can also get indian rupees at some co-operative travel branches, if you want to get a few to cover your taxi fare, otherwise, as someone else mentioned, you can pay in sterling.

the other option, if you dont want to take your bank card for fear of fraud etc, is to get a pre paid cash card that has no links to your bank account but works the same way.
