Silver Sands Annex- Candolim, Goa.

Hi there,

Was just wondering if anyone can throw any light on this please.

We want to stay here in April this year (soon) but want to definitely be in the newest rooms i believe to be in the annexe. I think these new rooms are not in the main hotel and are a little further from the beach.

I have been given a good price where they tell me the room is superior but please can anyone let me know which are the newest rooms? Are they all in this new annexe building and how many buildings does the hotel comprise of?

I%26#39;m getting really confused.

Thanks for any help on this it is much appreciated.

Hi, I don,t know much about the hotel but I think that there are two buildings to it, I think one which is the annex, is near the beach and the other building is on the main Candolim beach road. The one on the beach road has a restaurant called Angaara, we noticed this hotel when we were there in feb/march and thought that it looked lovely so we enquired about it ourselves. Hope this has been a little help to you.

Thankyou so much for the info- that%26#39;s a great help.

Hi Spangle, the superior rooms at the silver sands are the coloured blocks(yellow, blue, etc)of 4 apartments that run along the back road opposite the Lions club and overlooking the gardens. I stayed there Jan/Feb this year and once two years ago. These rooms are excellent. The annexe block is located up beach road(further from the beach). The main hotel comprises of a main hotel block, The superior blocks and several(8ish)%26#39;bungalows%26#39;(but from what I saw, these are little more than wooden %26#39;chalets%26#39;) Ihave not seen inside the annexe but would highly recommend the superior rooms, we stayed in T304.

Thanks Polygon,

Can i just ask- whilst i can appreciate and imagine these rooms are probably quite basic- are they clean and well maintained?

I dont mind basic as long as the bed linen and living area, bathroom etc is clean.

Sorry, i am quite fussy but have been to Goa many times and appreciate the standard out there. I also know that some places are better than others.

Also would you say that the superior rooms are newer than the main hotel and do they have a nice balcony?

I really appreciate your help as i am on the verge of booking a superior room, thanks again.

Dear spangle 67 I just got back to good old Northampton last week. Silver Sands is a good hotel I was in a standard room which was clean, nice comfy beds and a nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool. I saw the superior rooms they looked very nice overlooking the gardens, I thought the bungalows were really charming with a lovely atmospere as everyone stops to chat on the way to the bar/reception area. You cannot beat the location of this hotel and Candolim is far more relaxed than Calangute. If you have a good price go for it you won%26#39;t regret it I promise xx

Cheers Lisapizza,

It%26#39;s good to hear from people who%26#39;ve experienced it, thankyou.

We absolutely love Goa and have been going for the last 6 years in Jan/ Feb. We were there this year for 3 weeks but usually stay in Arpora.

As i%26#39;ve just had an op and will be off work for a while we thought, as we still have a valid visa, we might as well go again ( Mum and i )and make the most of my sick leave. Poor hubby can%26#39;t get anymore time off work!

To be quite honest as much as we love everything about the place it%26#39;s worth it to stock up on tailor made clothes and cheap medication!

Just need the o.k. from my consultant that i can fly and i%26#39; sure we%26#39;ll be booking- thanks again for your help.

Hi Spangle, the superior rooms are kept spotless(cleaned whenever you hand your keys in reception). I did have to ask for fresh towels a couple of times(no hardship)

The rooms are supplied with fridge, sat. t.v., air con. and cieling fan. Bed linen was changed regulary.

Nice view from the balcony(T304)enough room for table and two chairs and a few bottles of wine.

If you%26#39;ve not booked yet try looking on monstertravel.co.uk with the build your own option, we got a great deal in Jan/Feb.Thompson/first choice flight, rooms through the spice route. All done for you , worked out at 拢607 each.

Hope this helps.
