Staying for 3 weeks

My wife and i (both in our sixties) are thinking of staying in Veranasi for about 3 weeks. Is this a good idea or not. Next Jan/Feb. Any idea what weather is normally like then.

Any idea also of accomodation for long stays etc. Something in the region of 1000 to 1,500 per night.

thanks,

Pete

Staying for 3 weeks

I was in veranasi in nov. Fascinating and wonderful place. However, I think I would have been exhausted staying there for 3 weeks, unless I had some kind of learning program. I would recommend see other places in India. Especially in Rajastan.

Staying for 3 weeks

I have had my fill really of backpacking around etc. Did all that in the 70%26#39;s! We just want to sort of immerse ourselves in the place etc and get to know the people and culture etc. Looking at travel in a different way now.

No longer the %26#39;we must see this and that etc%26#39;. We just want to take the stress out of everything.

It doesn%26#39;t have to be Veranasi could be anywhere in India. I would be open to any sensible suggestions as to where to spend 3 to 4 weeks, other than Goa.

regards,

Pete

hello Pete,

Your post sounds you are looking for place(quite and peacefull) Jan/feb is winter in India and north is cold, weather in rajasthan is good during day and nights are cold too.

you can do your 4weeks stay as follow.

1st week in city of Rajasthan(Udaipur/Bundi is good)

2nd week in countryside of rajasthan to fell rural life (desert/hill village is option)

3-4th week other then rajasthan, in lap of nature Rishikesh(Haridwar) gate way of gods is option.

spending 4weeks different places makes your time intresting and you will exprience lot more and nicly.

1000-1500 per night you can get good clean and comfy places to stay anywhere in India.

guidedesert,

Thanks for that. That would be our budget for a nightly stay wherever.

On reflection it will probably be only 3 weeks as we have to fly to anf from either Bombay or Delhi. Probably Bombay as the flights are a tad cheaper to there I think.

Whereabouts is Hardiwar? Is that possible and relatively easy to get to from Udaipur by train etc.
