Thomas Cook - pre booked seats

Hi,

Just wanted to let people know that our tickets arrived and the rather neat thing is that we could pick our seats on the plane and pre-book them both ways so we know exactly where we are going to be sitting and as we had seats together as part of the holiday package it only cost £26 for both of us - how cool is that?

Now just counting the days - 23 to go!

Thomas Cook - pre booked seats

Hi Shirley, great you got your tickets :)

We decided not to go for the pre-bookable seats in the end. We upgraded when we booked and having paid a small fortune for this, we decided we were not gonna pay extra for seats, so we are getting to the airport early to try and get seats together.

Thomas Cook - pre booked seats

Question - if you don%26#39;t want to answer it is ok - but could I ask how much does it now costs to ';upgrade'; or whatever it is called when you travel by charter and do you really have to pay to sit together when you have paid the extra money?s(Seems a bit mean if they do)

Yes you do have to pay extra with certain airlines. First Choice and Monarch you don%26#39;t have to pay extra for pre-bookable seats but for Thomas Cook we do, so we decided against it. And it was about 160 each return. Some might say a rip-off and once upon a time I%26#39;d have said no way am I paying that, but having done it now, it%26#39;s great and I need the extra luggage allowance.

The friends we go with always upgrade and had we not upgraded ourselves this time, we may have ended up in different hotels as it was booked on the one booking and there were only a couple of rooms left at the time of booking, so if we had booked separately with them upgrading and us not, it may not have worked out, if that makes sense.

hi we paid 67 pound return for upgrade to premier cabin with t cook, going from manchester april 6th for 2 weeks staying at the ronhill beach resort again, its our 10th visit to this hotel in 5 years.

When I first asked for a price to upgrade to premier in February we were quoted £270 each - so we decided not to bother. We already had guaranteed seats together as part of the holiday package but I had read elsewhere on the forum that seats together could mean either side of the isle which I didn%26#39;t want to risk. The tickets included a picture and seat plan of the aircraft and I just called up and picked the seats we wanted and paid the £28 for the lot.

Probably better than premier as we never drink enough to cover the cost anyway!

How did you manage to only pay £67.00?

It can depend on when you book Suze. Last year we managed to get the upgrade with Monarch at no extra cost at all at the time of booking. We just got lucky that weekend when we booked. Not so lucky this year unfortunately.

hi thats what they were asking when we asked for the price off a upgrade, guess we were very lucky this time.

Yes it%26#39;s the luck of the draw I%26#39;ve found on previous occassions, I%26#39;ve upgraded straightaway and paid full price, and other times phoned up just before travel and been lucky enough to get a good discount, although you do run the risk of all the seats being gone, happended to me one year with Monarch and spent nearly 10 hours with legs wrapped aroun my ears..lol

Boo

We went with FC in December and didn%26#39;t pre-book seats. We got to Manchester early. The plane was 2-3-2 and we got four seats together, 2 window directly behind each couple. We were lucky or it was probably compo after having to fly via Gatwick. Had the same seats on the return.
