Just back.........Doh!

Just got back from Mobor beach, sixth time, just a few observations which might help;

1. Kingfisher Airlines, in one word.....Fantasmagorical. What a brilliant service. We flew Heathrow, Mumbai, Dabolim, out. Dabolim, Bangalore, Heathrow, back.

It was heaven, compared with our previous experiences with..........well yo all know who.

The aircraft are first class, the seating is first class, the flight crew where first class, the in flight food, drinks and entertaiment, you guessed it....first class!!

We will never look back from this experience, its Kingfisher from now on. Oh forgot to mention all this for £324 each, return. Jai Ho!!

2. The Night Market is alive and well.

It%26#39;s at the same place as ever, with better security, better toilets(eh, ladies), the usual cosmopolitan entertainment...My God, who was that Russian Rapper, well thats another story!!

Anyway, It%26#39;s all good.

3. Taxi%26#39;s, no compaints really, maybe a small increase, check with driver first, they should have a sheet with most of the standard route charges on.

4. The police still take a bung if you get busted for riding the Highway without a lid or for that matter most any other misdemeanours......shocking really, but true.

5. The season has been slow, traders are suffering.

However be aware that they will try to recover their whole seasons losses from you. They think if they can make one big hit on a tourist they can recover the lack of business for the whole year. They should take a lesson from UK traders, drop the prices, sell loads more, accept smaller margins, with greater sales volumes.......Nah, try explaining that to a Kashmiri, Oh My God!!

My advice, haggle, haggle, haggle harder, then walk away. They will ask UK prices for snide gear, come off it Ranji!!

6. If you are near to Margoa, get yourself to a football match at the Fatorda Stadium, we managed to see three games, two league games and an Asian Federation Cup game between Dempo(local) and Al Maheb(Syrian) 1-0, Dempo. It%26#39;s like the Asian Champions League, however the standard is lower. Check the local newspapers for fixtures, it%26#39;s a big stadium (30,000), only about 1000 supporters per game, however it%26#39;s great fun, good natured and only cost 30 rupees for the best seats, Oh, take your own beer, only soft drinks and nuts available from on site vendors.

Generally, nothing much has changed in Goa since our last visit, it is still the Beauty(friendly Goans, scenery, sun and food) one minute and the Beast( poverty, rubbish, beggars, dust and dirt) the next.

Go to Goa, experience, enjoy and fall in love with India.

Just back.........Doh!

What a fab report Saddletramp, glad you enjoyed!
