Silly question

Hi all

I am seriously considering hiring a moped whilst in Calangute. I am VERY rusty lol, I know the roads are manic, but, am presuming the speeds are low making it a little easier to ride?

So...... what I am really asking is would it be safe for a rusty novice on a twist and go?

Thanks in anticipation! x

Silly question

errr...NO!

Silly question

PMSL.....as anticipated, but worth hoping lol

just been out on roads in Goa on Enfield with husband who is old hand on Bikes-scariest thing was touists on mopeds with obviously no road sense.

Definitely would not recommend it Janee! The roads are a nightmare just as a pedestrian! I have a full bike licence and wouldn%26#39;t risk it!

I think I`d rather risk malaria than mopeds in Goa, outcome is more favourable.

Id say definitely not. The roads are manic and most of the drivers are crazy - not worth the risk if you%26#39;re a rusty novice.

Yep same here i have a full bike and car licence and wouldn%26#39;t even dream of driving/riding there and i%26#39;m pretty confident usually. Mopeds are death traps on British roads so on Indian roads your asking for trouble. Dont worry though taxi%26#39;s are dirt cheap.

Hi Janee777.....

Go for it but be prepared to break..break...break... The one thing that is very identified if u sit and watch the traffic in Goa is they are not going that fast, there is just alot of them ie bikes, cars, buses, tut tuts not to mention rush hour ! ! ! Be bold be brave if thats what u really want to do.

Fear is in the eye of the beholder ! ! ! Enjoy yourself you are in Goa . Sereta

Janee777, yep, in fairness a very silly question! lol

Have you been to Goa? If you have and are still wanting to hire a bike, go and see your doctor lol

Sereta, suggest the same to you lol

There is some pretty bl**dy bad driving in this country but there . . . beggers belief!

Just keep safe, whatever you decide and have a wonderful holiday :-))

Linda

have to say being in the traffic was not as scary as walking down the street -to does have a kind of flow .That said if your out of practise take care anything can happen ,cows.goats,pigs,elephants.
