Advice regarding Club Mahindra Varca

Met a family who were staying there just after Xmas - they%26#39;d come to Cavelossim for dinner as it was apparently very very quiet there in the evenings (and Cavelossim ain%26#39;t exactly the bright lights!). They said that the rooms were nice, but described it as a bit soulless, not a patch on the Holiday Inn where they%26#39;d stayed previously.

You%26#39;ll be able to get mossie stuff locally - there%26#39;s a tiny beach shop between 2 of the shops that sells just about everything. If they haven%26#39;t got what you want, I%26#39;m sure they%26#39;ll get it the next day. There will also be some shops in %26#39;downtown%26#39; Varca - there%26#39;s no shortage of shops in Goa!

The beach shacks at Varca are really nice - have walked along the beach a few times from Cavelossim %26amp; always enjoyed them. It takes about 45 minutes to walk between the 2 places - you can hire bikes to cycle along the beach to speed up the process if you fancy testing out the Cavelossim shacks (carry on past the main drag and keep going south to reach the better setting of a cluster of about 6 shacks just by the Holiday Inn, a further 15 minutes walk will bring you to a lovely remote shack called Lonely Place in the most idyllic position - keeping my fingers crossed that no one else had built a shack next to it when I go back in 3 weeks time).

Do go and visit Old Goa and Panjim one day - you can hire your own taxi or proabably book something through your travel rep if you want to spend a bit more. Old Goa is quite remarkable and reminds us of the historical %26amp; cultural background of the place we%26#39;ve chosen to travel to. Panjim is also receommended for a bit of sightseeing, particularly (this may appeal to your wife!) for the HiDesign handbag shop (just over a third of the price as John Lewis or Selfridges)

Thank You for your advice i just suppose we will have to make our own entertainment in the evening!!

To be honest ive always fancied staying at a resort that just has lots of quit stretches of sand, this resort sounds perfect for that.

How we will be after a few nights im not too sure i presume after a day lazing in the sun and sea a good meal few beers we will be shattered.

Thanks for the advice regarding shops and day trips Old Goa sounds good, not sure i should mention the shopping !! and a an Elephant ride a must.

Thanks Again Dave

If it is too quiet for you on an evening you can always take a taxi into Cavelossim to try one of the excellent restaurants there. It won%26#39;t take long in a taxi and should only cost a couple of pounds.

Thanks Gemma

Will do flying tonight 19.30 just ironing my Leeds shirt for the beach, getting excited.

Thanks again

Dave
