Hotel recommendations in or around Dehli for young family.

Hello,

Am looking to stay in Dehli for 4 nights to end our whistlestop tour of India before flying back to London. Thing is we haven%26#39;t travelled since having the children (ages 2 and 4) so I want our stay to be special for the kids and ourselves. Was thinking a pool for kids (am I being greedy!), great in-house dining especially breakfast, spa/beauty parlour etc. Basically looking for hassle-free comfort and stimulation for kids. Am willing to stay outside of Dehli if this means staying somewhere exceptional.

p.s. Been to Dehli loads of times (before kids) so not too concerned about sightseeing.

Any recommendations ?

What%26#39;s the budget?

You may check out Taj Palace, it is just 10-15 minutes drive from the airport and has good facilities like a good pool a mini golf course and a spa/beauty parlor also.

It has two top class eateries Masala Art, serving contemporary Indian food and Orient Express, serving a melange of cuisines.

Oberoi too has a good spa and it%26#39;s restaurant Threesixty and travertino are also famous restaurants.

Le Meridien at Janpath also has a good spa and all other amenities. However I am not sure about the in house dining experience.

Hyatt Regency too has a spa. Newly refurbished Lalit in CP also has a spa named rejuve... But again I am not sure about the in house dining experience there.

All the above are 5 star properties with average room tariff around US$ 300 a day.

Budget budget?

Hi Sandeep,

stay at newly opened The Leela, Gurgaon (www.theleela.com) which is in a large shopping mall (The Ambience Mall), ur kids can enjoy too at the Fun City there and so can you.

or else try Radisson just 2 kms from the International Airport.

Hello,

Oh yes, the budget! Around $300 is about o.k.

However, after much deliberation we have now decided to take an overnight train to Jaipur from Punjab (jalander or ludhiana i think) and will be there for 3 nights (9th April to 11th April) and than take a train to Dehli on the 12th as my sister in law will be flying back to London that night. But we will be staying for 1 night in Dehli and flying back the next day.

Question is are we mad ?

Should we forget Jaipur all together (have been there before and personally prefer Udaipur as a destination) and stick to spending our final days in Dehli. Are we biting more than we can chew. I thought that the hotel experience in Jaipur etc etc would be better for us as it%26#39;s more catered to tourists as opposed to business travellers. But it is proving to be super expensive and a lot of the rooms are booked anyway. ?????

If sightseeing is not on your agenda why don%26#39;t you make a trip from Punjab to explore the hills of Himanchal - the driving distance would not be more than 5-8 hours one way and you %26amp; the kids would have time to unwind before flying back. Shimla, Kasauli, Chail, Naldhera, Mashobra will all offer you properties well within your 300$ budget.
