Hi,
Can someone suggest me a nice hotel..my criteria is
(a) Play space for kids...some kind of entertainment
(b) Good quality Veg Food
(c) Room - Hygenic and nice interiors.
Pls give me suggestion as I have to plan it by tommorow. I have heard nice review about Byke and Usha Ascot. Which one is better also any other good resort ..?

Haven%26#39;t been recently but Usha Ascot was good.
Our favourite used to be Lord%26#39;s Hotel, A heritage hotel. Have no idea how it is now. Used to be very good.
Suggestion for nice hotel
Take a look at the Travel classifieds of the Mid Day - they are full of adverts for Matheran Hotels and Resorts. The popular ones are Byke, Usha, Richie Rich, Cecil, Brightlands, Regal, Lords, Horseland, Woodlands ..... most are with play space, some with pools and so forth.
Usha, Richie Rich, Rangoli and Brightlands are pure veg., not sure about the rest. If you call them you can find out. Or check details at niva link, sam san and here at TA on the left hand side.
FYI, Brightlands is not pure veg. They serve both veg and non-veg.
The problem with Brightlands, like many of Matheran%26#39;s resorts is that the estate is old and run down, although the resort is run pretty ok. I stayed there last year (early monsoon) and the room was somewhat smelly. The room appliances, viz TV and fridge were not in working condition.
The high point of the resort was food, which was excellent.
My mistake. In fact, I see from todays Mid Day classifieds that many of the hotels advertise ';Separate Kitchens'; !!
