Where to go in North India?

Hello there.

Me and my father are planning a tour around North India between Saturday 25th July and 7th August. These are the only dates we can travel between and we are aware of and prepared for the monsoon season.

Basically i%26#39;m looking for suggestions of how to fill our time there? We would be staying in at least 4 star accomodation and would like to spend at least 2 nights in Delhi, 2 nights in Varanasi and pay a visit to the Taj Mahal. Beyond that we are open to suggestions! We%26#39;d like a bit of a mix of what we see if possible i.e. not always temples but don%26#39;t mind that if there are no alternatives. Obviously budget it a consideration but first we%26#39;d like to know what people suggest.

Could anybody suggest a possible route and suggestions for what we can fill these 13 days with?

Thankyou!

You may think of:

1. Varanasi - Temples, Ghats, Sadhus

2. Agra - Taj

3. Jaipur - Rajputana City, Palaces %26amp; Forts

4. Jodhpur - Very Nice fort, A hotel in a palace, where erstwhile King also has residence.

5. Jaisalmer - Desert Safari, Sand Dunes

6. Delhi - Capital city and a must

These all are cultural places and can be very well covered in 13 days. No crisscrossing is involved and they can be done in a series.

Thankyou for your reply. These ideas sound very interesting.

Is this set of places covered by flights, trains etc i.e. can it be completed in a circuit in 13 days?

Yes ! I%26#39;ve suggested you a doable circuit only as there are many other interesting places.

These places are well connected by trains/air. No problem in that.

When are you reaching Varanasi ? and exactly when do you want to leave...If you can tell me may be I can help you in planning an itinerary.
