Jaipur to Agra road conditions February, March 2009

Dear Advisors,

I am getting varying reports on the road and it%26#39;s condition between Jaipur and Agra/Taj area at this time. Has anyone been this route in the last few weeks to know if it is a good road, or if it is under-construction, or if it is usually too crowded to drive? Does any one who has driven over this road in the last feew weeks know how long it will usually take to drive from Jaipur to Agra? How many lane road is most of the way?

Between Jaipur and Agra people often choose to stop for sightseeing at Fatehpur Sikri, which is another city.

If you add Sikri to your itinerary, then you will need 7-8 hours.

Yes, I did this route last week. With 2 hours at Sikri, plus a 45 minute lunch, I was travelling from 9.15-5.15. Admittedly we hit peak hour traffic coming into Jaipur which added a little more time.
