There is a Gujarati place on the outskirts of Calangute, on the left as you are coming from Candolim but can%26#39;t remember the name. The Plantain Leaf in Calangute also caters for Gujaratis and does great masala dosas.

Anand Sagar is the best veggie place in Calangute. Going from Candolim towards Calangute go past the church in the middle of the road and carry on for about 200yds and it is on your left, opposite a big purple painted supermarket. Thalis 60rps but only at lunch time, dosas etc available all day.

It is Udupi food and very good, eat there at least 3 times a week, far better and cleaner than the Plantain Leaf.

There is a small veggie place in Candolim, past the King Fisher Villa on the right going towards the Ford Aguada Hotel. It is next door to the Himalaya but have never eaten in there as there is never anyone in it which to me is not a good sign.

Yes ! My vote too for Ananad Sagar.....

Hi

The Calangute Indian Gujarati Restaurant that is genuinely run by Gujatati%26#39;s (They are my Neighbours)is on the way out of Calangute heading towards Candolim. You Pass Royal Foods / Post Office Road and Blue Note Cafe /crossing over the speed rumblers.Past Calangute Panchayat then aprox 100 yards Further on on the Left right on the bend in the road is Kennys Breakfast Place (also recommended).Right opposite it is the Gujarati Restaurant which is just before the Tulip Bar.It and the Ice Cream Parlour which are side by side are run by the same family.

But the666devil the dishes that you mentioned are available in MOST locals restaurant.Dont know about the tourist ones(those open just for the tourist season as dont use them if i can possibly help it)But if you visit Mapusa there are loads of locals places there.

Anand Sagar is the place I was thinking of.

My Gugariti friend has her food delivered from that small restaurant but was not sure where it was except it was near to Kennys.

Anand Saga is open all year round and worth a visit.

Best one in Mapusa is Navtara - do find some of the others a little - shall we say - not too clean.
