Food prices are cheap, very cheap!

Visas are valid for 6-months, so you should apply just a few months before travelling.

For an idea of prices check Daytrippers website:

John%26#39;s Boat Tours based in Candolim also has a website but I can%26#39;t find it at the minute!

Also worth having a look at the following thread

I%26#39;d apply for your visa in January, to miss the Christmas rush. Currently you have to apply through VFS Global, and you%26#39;d have to apply to the Birmingham office. Details at http://in.vfsglobal.co.uk/ with plenty of advice available on this forum.

I can%26#39;t tell you prices in Calangute - and it will also depend on the exchange rate next year - but you can generally eat out for two at beach shacks for a tenner with beer and enough food to make you waddle back to your hotel. Restaurants off the beach are a bit more expensive and could cost you up to, well, anything, almost I%26#39;d guess at about 20-25 quid in a restaurant. If you drink wine it tends to be expensive, but beer and spirits are pretty cheap.

Trips are cheaper if you book them with taxi drivers. All the drivers know where to go and you negotiate your price before you get in.
