Money Exchange in / around Betalbatim

Hi Everyone,

Arrive in Goa in the early hours next tuesday morning, and wondered if any one can advise where to obtain Rupees at the Airport ? or wait until we arrive at our Hotel in Betalbatim in South Goa.

Thanks in anticipation of valued information.

There is an ATM at the airport and you can exchange money there too, but you%26#39;ll get a lousy rate.

Which hotel are you staying at in Betalbatim? Most of the hotels there offer exchange, but at a not much better rate than you%26#39;ll get at the airport. The nearest ATM is in Colva.

Hi There,

Thanks for that, staying at the Alagoa ?

seems somewhere in a swamp near a lake YUK !! back and beyond somwhere else.

Have you any idea of distance / cost of getting to the nearest atm, this is all very very new teritory to me and ANY information would be very gratefully recieved.

The Alagoa is a bit in the middle of nowhere, to be honest. It%26#39;s a pretty straightforward sort of place, but there%26#39;s not much around there.

Colva will really be your nearest ATM. Your nearest decent restaurant is 86HD in Betalbatim, about a 10-15 minute walk from your hotel - and if you want a taxi back, it%26#39;s probably best to book one.

Colva has a few OK bars and restaurants, but most of them in that area are a bit out of the way. Goodman%26#39;s is great for the odd bit of karaoke and that sort of thing. Tate%26#39;s is good for pre-dinner drinks and does quite good, fairly bland European food. The Sea Pearl in Colva does lovely fish and sea food. But honestly I%26#39;d probably head for Majorda and Palm Shades (great), Pentagon (food OK, service variable), or Crab Key, which used to be fabulous, but I thought this year was absolutely average. PM me if you want to know anything else.

My daughter stayed in Betalbatim at xmas and she would recommend 86HD, she went into Colva to change money and payed 200rps return, probably told taxi to come back for them. If you check on here she did a long report for someone eles a little while ago. Hope this helps Gel
