ice in drinks.....

is ice in drinks not safe?

Or do some bars use bottled water for their ice? And will they advertise the fact...If so can they be trusted?

ice in drinks.....

ice in drinks.....

Hi

Many places in the tourist area do advertise the fact that they use bottled water for ice and also to wash salad items. As bottled water costs money and every rupees saved is a bonus, I would not be surprised if that practice is not always followed. However, they could say it is bottled water meaning that it comes in 10ltr bottles such as those used for water coolers:-

The source of this water could be anywhere.

You could go futher and say %26#39;what about the water used for hot drinks?%26#39;. Likewise, how long should water be boiled to make it safe? Read the following:-

I would recommend getting the extra precaution of Hepititas A/E jab. Read more at:-

I have had ice, hot drinks, and even ice cream and never fallen ill. However, I would say that I have a strong stomach for most foods and have mainly fall ill from my own cooking.

both me and hubby has upset stomachs during our 2 weeks recently. We are as tough as old boots and after a week with no problems being extra cautious did let our guard down and accidently forgot to ask for no ice.Don%26#39;t risk it not nice. Also as previously advise get hep can%26#39;t be to safe.

I always have ice in my drinks and have never had any problems.

The ice is dropped off in one big block at the end of the road for the shacks...then the dogs come along and pee over it...then it is collected and used at the shacks.

I wonder who sculptures that big block of ice into tiny little ice cubes ???

The shak i use would never use that, you seem to have so little faith in any of the Goans (yumyum)

I use Bayview shak in Candolim run by Leo %26amp; Mickey and have done for several years.

Hi Judge when ~I was there last time in Nov I did notice more places were using bags of ice, so I did have ice with no problems.. Shack ~I use on Baga asked me if I needed ';safe ice'; in my drink and explained about the bag.
