i did not get delhi belly last time in mumbai

hi

the last time i came to mumbai i stayed at the taj president and we were here for 17 nights and loved our stay at the hotel

we came just to chill and have lovely food that mumbai has to offer

we only ate at the hotel, taj mahal and twice at macdonalds

they both have lovely restruants with a large variety of differant foods from all over world

and not once did we have delthi belly

we had been told that we will get it

but we proved them wrong and people were surprised when we said that we had a lovely time

in the begining of a holiday we had bottled water and after a couple of days we started to have the hotel filterd water and we it was nice and cool

yes we did blow our budget on food but it was a holiday to remember

but overall the food was lovely and worth every last rupee

we even did sight seeing from gandhi musuem, hanging gardens, prince of wales musuem, zoo etc.

we took a cruise from the taj mahal hotel and hired there cruise for the day and lovely meal out at sea and saw mumbai from the sea nice

but we missed the caves

but i hope to come later on this year when the taj mahal reopens again to enjoy this lovely hotel

Sounds like a lovely if expensive holiday :)

Glad you enjoyed Mumbai!

The Tower Wing of the Taj has been open since mid-December.

yes it was a lovely holiday

but we had worked hard for a couple of years and it was worth it every penny of it

overall we came at the expensive time of the year - xmas. new year and wedding season.

but we found the food very good value for money as it was first class food

my only gripe is the rate they charge for NRI for hotel rooms

i am sure that they would find more people staying if they did not charge the silly NRI rates

post 26/11 i think to attract the overseas visitors they will have to in my opinion have to reduce the rates that they charge the NRI visitors

i hope to come later on in the year and hope to see the hotel back to how it was

Hi Alisha,

Glad you had a lovely time. The President is indeed a lovely hotel to stay at.

There are good restaurants in Mumbai where you can avoid a ';Dehi Belly'; even outside the Taj ones. There have been recommendations given on this forum for several.

Next time you visit, do remember to ask for recommendations if you would like to sample a greater variety :)
